Why Ragdale?
A passionate team, 40 years experience, award winning, extensive facilities....and there's more!
We will be ready to welcome you between 8.30 and 9.30am (10.30 if on the Ragdale Experience Day, 11.00am if on the Late Escape Day, 4.30pm if on the Twilight Taster and 6.30pm if you are on the Evening Spa Experience package). A welcoming drink awaits you whilst you register and become familiar with the Hall’s extensive facilities.
Please complete your Medical Questionnaire prior to arrival (this is sent to your email address 5 days before your visit). Ragdale Hall is not a medical centre and we suggest you contact your GP if you have any concerns about the suitability of treatments or activities you wish to take advantage of. Should you have a disability, please contact us prior to arrival to discuss your specific needs. Your health questionnaire will be screened on arrival at which time we will issue you with your finalised schedule of appointments. We are unable to offer nursing care or full time individual attention.
Guests with allergy concerns are advised to personally check all treatments, activities, facilities, services, products and meals prior to participation. Ragdale Hall do take allergies seriously and will endeavour to assist where possible.
Visit our treatments pages to view, request and compare treatments available. All treatments should be booked at least 14 days prior to arrival. For further advice or to make bookings please call 01664 433043 (9.00am to 7.00pm – Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 5.00pm – Saturday and Sunday). Alternatively submit a Treatments Booking Form online prior to your stay. If booking an extra treatment which conflicts with a similar treatment within your package our staff will be happy to discuss alternatives, otherwise inclusive treatments cannot be changed. Please always quote your name and reservation number when calling and note that where suitable, treatments may be carried out by either male or female therapists. If you would like to participate in a particular exercise class please call the Treatments Advice Line on 01664 433043 so that we are able to arrange your treatments around your class choices.
The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. A complimentary robe is provided for use during your visit, alternatively we recommend you bring casual leisurewear. Most guests choose to wear flip flops or mules, both of which are available to purchase from our Boutique. For hygiene and safety reasons, we respectfully request that footwear be worn at all times (outside of the spa area) with flip flops (ideally open toe) being the ideal choice if you plan to have a pedicure during your stay. As it is inappropriate to wear jewellery during treatments we advise you not to bring valuables with you. Personal effects should be covered by your own insurance.
In a campaign to reduce the amount of plastics we use, we have removed plastic cups from most of our water fountains around the Hall, therefore we suggest bringing a reusable water bottle with you during your visit so you can fill it up at any of our water dispenser machines as it is important to stay hydrated before and after your treatments, during exercise and going in and out of our thermal spa rooms.
You will be issued with a private locker in one of our changing rooms, which contain an unlimited supply of towels and vanity areas with hair dryers and complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Private changing facilities are available in some changing rooms. Alternatively, private changing may be available on the day at an additional charge, subject to availability.
A three course healthy lunch is served in our Dining Room (excluding Ragdale Experience Day, Twilight Taster and Evening Spa Experience packages). Complimentary mineral water is included with all meals and a selection of wines and soft drinks are also available. The Garden Room serves a varied selection of hot and cold drinks and the Verandah Bar offers additional smoothies and light snacks and provides lunch for guests on the Ragdale Experience Day and a two course evening meal for guests on the Late Escape, Twilight Taster and Evening Spa Experience packages. Please be advised that alcohol is not to be brought to Ragdale Hall. We offer a comprehensive wine list and limited range of alcoholic beverages and only drinks bought at the Hall can be consumed on site.
Any purchases made during the day can be charged to your personal account by quoting your name. Accounts must be settled by 5.30pm prior to departure at 6.00pm (6.30pm for Ragdale Experience Day) or prior to departure if staying for dinner or on the Late Escape, Twilight Taster and Evening Spa Experience packages. Payment may be made by Ragdale Hall gift voucher (please hand in on arrival), credit card or cash. Cheques will only be accepted as payment for any goods or services by prior arrangement and cannot be used for settlement of accounts. In any event, 20 working days advance clearance will be required. We believe that guests should be free to make their own decisions regarding gratuities for our staff. Therefore we do not impose an obligatory charge. However for ease and convenience of payment of gratuities all accounts will be subject to an optional charge of 4%, which may be removed or increased upon request. We believe that all our staff, including those behind the scenes, help contribute to the service we provide and therefore, gratuities are distributed evenly.
To preserve the quiet and relaxed ambience here at Ragdale please DO NOT use your mobile phone to make or take calls in public areas. Please respect your fellow guests and use the privacy of your room if you need to speak on your mobile.
If you wish to use your mobile or any other device to take photographs, please do so quietly and discreetly, and ensure there are no other guests in any of your images.
When accessing the internet, listening to music or watching any kind of media on your device, headphones must be worn and the respect of others relaxing around you should be considered.
The Ragdale Team will endeavour to approach any guest talking on their phone or spoiling the peace and quiet whilst using their device, in a public area.
Everyone relaxes in different ways – some seek solitude, some company and the chance to chat. The Retreat, the Candle Pool and Thought Zone are silent areas, however for the rest of the Hall, we feel you should have the opportunity to use facilities as you wish, as long as the relaxation of others and the general ambience is respected.
Please do not reserve loungers in the spa areas. There are plenty of hooks for robes and towels to be placed whilst you are using the facilities. There are also plenty of fresh towels readily available. We advise you to leave any personal belongings, such as jewellery and your mobile phone, in your locker or bedroom.
While smokers are welcome at Ragdale, we require them to observe the Health Act. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes and vaporizers, is prohibited in all areas of the building including bedroom balconies and immediately outside doors leading out of the building. The only place where smoking is permitted is the Smokers Gazebo situated in the gardens near the Verandah Terrace. We reserve the right to ask those not abiding by this rule to leave the Hall.
